WOW. Way to be a pain in the ass, MDSP...

This wouldn't happen to have ANYTHING to do with the Wollard ruling, now would it?

That was actually in the works before Woollard came down (the notice says March 1).

I'm told it was on MDShooters, too. I guess I missed it. I can't keep up with the thread about the case...it moves too fast and I have too little time to follow it. :\

You'd 'think' MDSP would keep up on 'little' details like that... sigh

Looks to me to be MORE convenient, anyway. When I went to get fingerprinted for my Utah CCW, no Maryland cops shop would help me. I guess they thought that would dissuade me...

Huh. Really? I figured this would be a pain in the ass simply due to lack of availability of live fingerprinting stations.

If it is, in fact, easier, I stand corrected.

I live in a small, rural mountain county in Colorado. When I went to renew my concealed-carry permit two years ago, I had to be re-fingerprinted because of the switch from paper to digital. It's happening everywhere, so I would not read too much into the timing.

Yeah, this is an FBI rule change, NOT MDSP. It sucks, and the timing is worse, but it is what it is.

If you are a NON-resident, applying for a MD permit, the MSP (and FBI) will accept standard FBI print cards the old fashioned way of ink and print.

New Jovian, not sure why no MD cop shops would help you, Baltimore Co. PD did my VA non-res without an issue. The lady officer was even pleasant as punch!
