Let us know how it went, I feel the need to do the same thing - and why WP instead of another? (just curious) Call it a bug-out-blog in case the regular blog meets with disaster.
DirtCrasher - Wordpress is free and isn't Livejournal (which is plagued with worse issues than Blogger). I don't know of any other freebies out there...do you? Sure, I could host it myself, but that's a big hassle I had trouble with awhile back.
