I think I've coined a new phrase.

Something I've noticed lately is the skyrocketing pageviews after SayUncle links to my little corner of the internets. Julie's noticed this phenomenon, as well.

SpareOne cell phone

I don't know if anyone's been keeping up on this, but a new company (SpareOne) has a cheap cell phone available to the general public. It doesn't have a screen and can only do basic cell phone things, and it doesn't require charging...all you need is a AA battery (included) for emergency calls. You can also stick a SIM card in if you want to use it like a regular phone. They have two models: one for the US, and one for international use. Oh, and if you store it properly, the battery has a fifteen year shelf life.

Well, that's a bit of a surprise.

Recently I got a chain email that read like every other urban legend: beware blah blah someone's gonna get you blah blah. This time, it referred to "bottle bombs" being left in yards.

I don't know if someone got the idea from that chain mail or what, but apparently, this happens for real. I'm a tad weirded out at present. Beware strange bottles in your yard!

My friend Jeff H. linked to a story from New York that hit Gothamist Tuesday morning. I guess hipsters aren't as smart as they'd like us to think...otherwise this wouldn't have happened.

There's another update on the Woollard case.

Judge Legg clarified his ruling.

Judge Legg has issued an injunction barring Maryland from enforcing Maryland Statue 5-306(a)(5)(ii) requiring Good and Substantial Reason for a handgun carry permit. Maryland cannot require G&S for any application under Judge Legg's order.

This is interesting.
