I have no words...

At least, nothing better than what Kizz has already said here.  And seriously, go read what she has to say.

That the government is even considering cutting funding to Planned Parenthood distresses me...this is the only way for some women to see a GYN.  This is one of the only organizations supporting the idea that women have the right to decide what we do with our own bodies.  How can we let them decide whether we retain this right?

Thanks for the shout out. I despair at this Congress. They hate me because I don't have a penis and nothing I can say will change their minds. They want me quiet and, failing that, dead because the dead tell no tales.

Yeah, I saw that this morning, and was kinda horrified. I need a reminder why I wanted to become a citizen here? Oh, right, so I can influence these kind of moronic decisions. Except that in this case, it's in SD where they don't care about what I have to say.

There's BILLIONS of dollars of waste in Medicare/Medicaid, DOD spending (insert any huge entitlement program here) and they want to cut funding for planned parenthood?

WTF do they think happens when some young girl gets pregnant and / or has a kid because they didn't have access to PP? It always seemed to me that the welfare cost to the State after the fact would be astronomically higher than funding something like Planned Parenthood.

And Justifiable homicide to kill an abortion doctor? I can't even begin to wrap my head around that one.

Kizz - Sure thing. More people need to read what you had to say.

Zig - Yeah...things like this sicken me. I'm glad you made the decision, though, because now you CAN have some influence on what goes on. :)

Mike - That's precisely why I'm so horrified. I mean, plenty of women use PP as their main GYN...I'm one of them. I don't want to see one of the only sources of sex education in this country disappear. PP does good things, and we need to make sure they stick around.

The justifiable homicide bit...that's just funny to me. To think that "pro-life" people want murder to be allowed seems to go against their entire reason for existing, no?
